| Ok all,
I need some guidance. As we are leveling up or creating PCs at a higher level should we be restricted to only those items available in Horde? Should we be allowed one uncommon item for example? What about things like healing potions and smaller consumables?
Also, a determination on gold to have/spend? I see as a wizard I get 2 additional spells known per level. That doesn't make for a very deep spell book at 8th level. I would like to assume I copied in or paid for more spells along the way, perhaps a few rituals, for example. How have you all worked that in the past?
Of course, I need to ask about CoW too. Do I need to update our campaign handbook accordingly as well?

| If your creating higher level, then you use the starting wealth at higher levels in the dmg, which I belive is 500 gp +2d10x25 or something. Which would techniqally allow you to spend that gold in additional spells as if you had copied it. Following normal pricing rules including the discount for your wizard specialty unless your an artificer. The items from hotdq is still up in the air as was determining if this counted as high fantasy or not (high fantasy lets newly created characters of our level one uncommon magic item) If he allows us the gold from the last chapter of hotdq (which is A LOT). Would depend on the split. Healing potions and other consumeables found in the players handbook can be afforded normally with your gold. | |

| Charles was saying we should be getting at least some of the items we passed because our characters would have encountered them. The gold rule that Sean mentioned seems fair but it's up to Charles. I know I'm dying to get that evil greatsword. I'd be fine playing a naked robot if all I got was Hazirawn.
Why would CoW change because of this? After CoW, this will only be the second campaign I've ever been in so I don't have much experience in this.

| Page 38 of the dmg for 'starting at higher level.' Normally its 500gp plus 1d10x25 gp, and normal starting equipment (so 1st level gear or 100 gp). High magic campaign allows one uncommon magic item in addition. Certain events in this campaign may affect what happens in CoW. Gods forbid if tiamat succeeds. But if harold already has rise of tiamat, he should have idea how it may influence the campaign. This includes massive military involvement. The iron suns maybe 'recruited' for the fight. The half of the group heading to neverwinter will see or get involved in what happens at the start, possibly. Might even see our characters

| That'd be pretty cool and Tiamat has got nothing on us. We can take her. | |
