Short Rest inside the Castle

OOC: Assuming someone gives me some HP...

Maleck stirs, the bruises and broken bones already mending. "Thank you comrades. Getting hit by a ton of stone was not one of my better moments." He shambles to the door and opens it slightly, peering cautiously into the courtyard. "I see my guard dogs are still out there. You two, guards the doors to this room!"

The zombies shuffle over each standing in front of one of the doors to the burnt husk of a room in which the party currently takes refuge. He then sits quietly trying to regain some of the magic spent in the nearly overwhelming encounter of the courtyard.

ooc: You'll probably get one of my Healing potions since I was the only one to buy some (700gp, had to buy something) ..... at least till our death cleric comes in next time.

"I am Overdrive. (The rest of the castle is probably alerted by now with the ogres running and the bat lady flying off)"

OOC: Save the potion. I'll give him 5 hp.

"It's good to see you alright Malek. Overdrive is right, we should be careful. The rest of the castle is probably alerted to us."

Maleck pulls a scrawny, dirty rat from his robes. The rat nibbles some cheese from the wizard's outstretched hand. "When we are ready to leave, little one, you will need to be our eyes. It is not safe here."

After appearing to listen to the rat for a moment Maleck chuckles. "No, no. Revenant won't crush you with his new sword. It is rather wicked looking though, isn't it." The rat shivers in apparent fear and scurries back into the fold of the robes. "My dear Warforged, I think your presence is even darker now with your new pointy toy. It seems the energies around you are being tainted by that black blade."

Maleck examines Revenant and the black great sword from afar. "Would you like me the investigate that blade a little? You've come so far in your rehabilitation, I would hate to see something set you back down a darker path."

Overdrive looks up from his rest. "I am Overdrive. (Hmmmm?)"

"It is still me beneath whatever energies surround me. I would like you to examine it however. It spoke to me, which I don't believe is normal for swords of this world. Revenant takes the black sword from his back and hands it to Malek. "He deemed me a worthy champion because he thought I am a 'servant of Bane'. I thought it was quiet humorous."

OOC: After the rest, cause I need me break! I will ritual cast Detect Magic before we move on.

"You are quite correct. Lumbering shanks of steel should not be speaking to you." The wizard very carefully and gently sets the dark blade on the floor and pulls out his implements and tools to exam it in details. He lays out a piece of parchments and semi-transparent hand takes out a quill and ink and starts making notes as the Maleck, now fully engaged in his investigation, starts dictating his observations like a surgeon.

Ooc: This sword allows Revenant to cast detect magic, detect evil and good, and detect thoughts now. Which is awesome.

Having seen Malek act like this before, Revenant is unphased. He sits down beside Malek and watches him work.

Ooc:damn thats some additional traits put in

Ooc: it's all at the end of HotDQ. When attuned it grants me an additional 2d6 necrotic damage, +2 to attack and damage rolls, the "wound" trait, and 4 charges to use for those spells.

Ooc:right. Well as long as its drawn when using those charges.

After 10 minutes of preparation, Detect Magic is finished. You learn the stat block for Hazirawn.
