Meh was thinking about an Elf artificer(wizard) with brewer background. Its a custom background but can easily be found online. Was trying to make an alchemist character.
Other than that I have other fall backs.

All of our characters grew up together though or at least have trained for a long time with each other so remember that for your backstory.

Also Maggie are we doing regular 27 point buy, or a larger number of points...?

That's not a problem. Someones got to try my concoctions while I was practicing other than myself , which my character does partake himself as well. Of course I really wanted an alchemist class, but only custom made is a pathfinder conversion and its explosive heavy. If it was allowed I would use it but then might get complicated. So artificer will work for now.

Also on the free rare magic item. Does that negate the free uncommon magic item from making a higher level character?

Yes. Yes it does. But you can take one uncommon item if you'd rather.

And 27 point buy. No moe, Charles, but you can spend 4th and 8th stat upgrades on your stats if you wish.

I had a more amusing idea for a character that involves a frying pan. so kinda caught between multiple character choices.

I'm going to be playing heavily on the short lifespan of my race. I'm gonna post a backstory soon and edit it when more people say what their characters are and when Maggie releases more details about the story.

Also Maggie, what level do you see us reaching by the end? And Chris wants to know if he can have two uncommon instead of one rare.

Let Chris speak for himself. And tell him I don't trust him with mechanics. The cap level depends on the rate you guys move through sessions. I would love to see you guys hit max, but that is unlikely in the 12 week summer, unless I give you a level per session. You will at least hit 16.

glamoured armor is rare. At least studded leather is as that's the exact entry in the dmg.

Sorry, I meant the gloves of thievery and the circlet of intellect. He was telling me about different character ideas he had and I got them confused.

I just wanted to say that I'm really looking forward to this game for the summer. I haven't gotten to play anything besides paladin and I'm looking forward to that. Plus, Chris told me a bit about how you DM, Maggie and that you focus a lot on the story aspect and I'm really excited. I plan on fleshing out my backstory fully and sending it to you in a PM or over email.

Still stuck on choices. Hard to tell when no one discusses it on here (even those that choose to not post on here). I have it temporarily down to three. By temporarily, I mean until I think of something more interesting:

Elven Artificer Wizard with Brewer background (with altered skill set to remove History prof. as that was a restriction). Also a bit of an alcoholic.

Fighter that uses an adamantine frying pan as a weapon (would that count as improvised versatile weapon with 1d6/1d8 bludgeon damage?). Cant seem to get that weapon choice out of my mind. No background choice made but probably a cook.

A Lore Bard Healer; a last resort character but if no one makes a healer I will use it. Will be somewhat decent build as its not hard to make a bard healer.

You, Chris and I are the only ones that I know are playing. Chris is doing an arcane trickster rogue, I'm doing my monk, and the rest is open so we'd still need a tank at least.

Steven will be playing, and he has a heavy armored wizard.

That's awesome and I can't wait lol in contrast to our end enormous other party, a four person party sounds pretty good to me. I know Stretch won't be playing and I assume Harold and Marcus will be out. Is Charles or anything of your friends from outside our group playing?
